No wonder our brains sometimes scream “tilt tilt”….depending upon the type of day we are having or what our emotions are telling us, our thoughts about who we are continue to flux. Our beliefs about ourselves can be based upon our emotions or our feelings.
Feelings and our emotions continually change. His truth doesn’t change and I am learning to base my beliefs on who He says I am.
I feel unworthy therefore I am unworthy, I feel shame so I must be shameful. But this is who He says I am~~
- Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new….2 Corinthians 5:17 TPT
- And he chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence.. Eph 1:4-5 TPT
- But then God called me by his grace; and in love, he chose me from my birth to be his. Gal 1:15 TPT
Psychology supports the concept that when someone becomes labeled eventually that label will be their identity. People held captive and treated like an animal eventually began acting like an animal.
I was done living out the rest of my life defined by others or my own faulty thinking. Many missteps in my life came from faulty beliefs about myself.
So many times I turned down a chance to experience something new and exciting because I limited my own potential. Risk taking requires some inner trust.
God is the only one who has to original blueprints for our lives. We don’t have to search for Him because He is right here. And He has so much for us.
We just need to ask.
