From knowing about God to knowing Him~A relationship

There has never been, in my opinion, a more significant time for us to be firmly standing on the Rock…..Jesus Christ…than now.

Everywhere we go there are opportunities to share the saving grace of Jesus. Our country is divided and people are angry and scared.

The Church has to be the church. People are looking for answers and we can’t offer warmed over or politically correct testimony. God’s Spirit is moving across the earth looking for those who can withstand the onslaught of evil opposition because they know whose they are. Believers who are willing to step out of our comfort zone to stretch our hand with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The biggest challenge to the Church will be to exemplify Jesus Christ as LOVE to those struggling for truth. The Word says “It is the goodness of God that leads a man to repent”....Romans 2:4. The convicting of those lost is the Holy Spirit’s job. If Jesus died to save us because He loved us first, that has to be our message. There is a darkness on the earth and we must overwhelm that the only way possible…..the love of God through Jesus. Christ

The”God kind of love” beckons His children to come under the shadow of His wing, in the cleft of the rock. That is the Father we must share. A Father protects and defends those He loves. That is the love we were made for and long for.

When Jesus encountered sin He handled it in the following way and should be our example:

John 8 New Living Translation (NLT)

When Jesus encountered the crowd ready to stone to death a woman caught in adultery..Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”11 “No, Lord,” she said.

And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” John 8:811 New Living Translation (NLT)

Repentance comes when I am crushed by His mercy, goodness and grace.

It is a relationship between two ….He loves me, He called me, He chose me and therefore I choose not to grieve Him. But of course, we all sin and fall short. And we repent and we are forgiven and the sins are forgotten as far as the East is from the West.

Psalm 103:12 New Living Translation (NLT)

12 He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.

The world does not want to hear about rules and laws from the Church…they want TRUTH. It’s a longing for truth that is built in all of us. This yearning for God to fill the empty hole within us, drives us to try to fill it with other things and other people. But we remain unfulfilled.

I’ve tried so many things for the good feelings they provide. But with regret, we realize it never lasts and on to the next thing we go and on and on. Transient thrills. The thrill doesn’t last and never will. We buy new cars, houses, jewelry, boats and after awhile the buzz dissipates and we are back on the hunt for the next bit of excitement.

I hit that brick wall and turned back…no, I ran back to the One who never disappoints and never leaves us.

He my solid Rock. One on which I stand.

There’s no turning back when you encounter the One who never changes. His well never runs dry. Its a well of Living water.

Romans 15:13 New Living Translation (NLT)

13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
