Orphan no more~steps to true restoration

Joel 2:25 New Living Translation (NLT)

DNA is a fingerprint of who you are.  We have the DNA of a king…THE KING Lord Jesus.

We live our lives like orphan children trying to find security in things and people.  Our minds are in a constant battle with our emotions to determine who we really are.

I had nothing to lose as I laid it all down, desperate for a new relationship with the Lord.  And the Holy Spirit took me at my word as he pointed out areas blocking growth.  I’m sometimes a slow learner so I saw this particular scripture quite often:

Psalm 32:9-11 New Living Translation (NLT)

I realized how important this was when I read over my journal I’ve been writing since this journey began. He is the restorer not me.  I would try to get ahead of him on my own Bible detour getting lost and frustrated on the way.  He had a plan and a path already in place and I needed to stay on it in my restoration process.

It is like building a structure from the ground up.  Step one had to be learning my true identity.

This initial step in restoration is essential for a Kingdom living life.  Self has to be replaced by the Word; in other words, who He says we are, not who our minds, emotions and others say we are. The Holy Spirit is a reliable  mentor, teacher and guide in this restoration process.  Because our mind is where the battle takes place the Holy Spirit lives in us and knows what to highlight, take or out replace.  A renewed mind replaces our self-limiting thoughts and lies of the enemy.

When we  are secure in our true identity we spend less effort and time being self-minded and self-absorbed.  What others are thinking or saying about us becomes less and less important and we begin to seek out our Father and a relationship with Him.  In this journey, He continually pours out His love, forgiveness, grace and mercy without us even asking.  He lives in us and we now seek to live in Him.  We begin to desire time alone with Him to develop the Father/daughter/son relationship we have been yearning desperately for all of our lives.

When we initially surrender out lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ we become restored back to our original identity as a child of God walking with Him in paradise before the Fall.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!

And with this true identity  comes  all the benefits of kingdom living now here on earth.  Our right standing with God through Jesus and all His benefits including the powerful gifts of the Spirit, access to the throne room of Father and eternal life.

Until we take this truth and lay it down as our foundation, our attempts to walk upright in victory will fail.

Romans 8:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

We declare and decree what God says about our lives, situations and future not what others confess about us. These declarations have the power to change our situations and outcomes.  There is power of life and death in the tongue and we are responsible for what we are confessing about ourselves.

2 Corinthians 3:18 New King James Version (NKJV)

Our restoration was already completed and accomplished at Calvary.  Our job is to claim this in faith and begin to walk as rightful heirs,  purchased for us by the death and resurrection of our Lord.  The Kingdom and all it’s benefits is here now for those who wear His crown of dignity and worth.

Our Father is ALL GOOD.  He is in constant pursuit of us…to overwhelm His children with good things and to be in eternal relationship in His heart.  Intimacy with the Father.  The atmosphere changes and the enemy will flee.
